No sickness, just liquid poo.

DS is miserable as it is, plus hungry where I've not fed him much other than toast this morning... am I doing right?

my view is to fdrink plenty and eat what you feel like

riche tea biscuits are good, but I don't beleive in restriciting if you are hungry

Flamesparrow · 04/04/2007 08:17

I'm sorry, never came back to you - thank you

Flamesparrow · 04/04/2007 08:19

Nope Still pouring out of nappies when it happens (thankfully only every few hours), temp up and generally miserable.

Poor little man

have you seen the gp? it's not one of those crypto illnesses is it?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/04/2007 08:23

my grandmother swears by the BRAT diet when sick with the runs:
Bananas
Rice
Apple Sauce
Toast

DumbledoresGirl · 04/04/2007 08:27

The runs can be just like being sick in terms of what goes down well and what should not be eaten. Keep him off dairy and limit him to the BRAT diet and one or two other plain things, eg potato, maybe a jelly (not citrus fruit though), pasta, etc.

I have had only diarrhoea when my children have had a sickness bug and it was dreadful. You knew the minute you had eaten something whether you should have done or not!

Flamesparrow · 04/04/2007 08:29

Crypto illnesses?

I could do the rice and toast out of BRAT monkey, but the others go straight through him anyway

When I was last ill like this, toast was all I wanted Flamey. He can have honey (assuming he is not under 12 months) on it, or marmite or jam - but I would leave off the butter.

zippitippitoes · 04/04/2007 08:36

sorry there is a water borne bug which gives chronic diarrhoea whose name I can't remember

DumbledoresGirl · 04/04/2007 08:41

cryptosporidium

Aloveheart · 04/04/2007 08:48

give him cooled boiled water not from tap you probably know this already but just in case

Flamesparrow · 04/04/2007 08:51

His cousins had it last week and the doctor said it was just basic D&V (they had the v part too).

Lullabunnyloo · 04/04/2007 08:51

mashed potato
white rice

Flamesparrow · 04/04/2007 11:08

He's just woken up from a 2 hour sleep, is smiling and is playing again.

He smells a lot healthier too (in himself, not sh*t wise ).
