Ongoing diarrhoea (sorry)

Ive nnamechanged, I'm not a troll. Been here 9 years, just didn't want this to be associated with my regular name.

I've had diarrhoea for 4, going in to 5 weeks now. It's always liquidy, type 7 I'd say on the BSC.

I sent some samples off via the GP last week, testing for bacteria, crohns and colitis, and they've all come back as clear. GP cannot explain why I've got it, nor what I should do to resolve it.

I cannot continue to take tablets to stop it, they didn't work anyway.

GP says not IBS as dint have any pain.

There is no pain, but when I need to go, I need to go. We were in holiday in France a few weeks ago, and it was partly ruined because of my need to go to the toilet.

It doesn't happen when I eat, so GP said not likely an intolerance.

I take metformin, and stopped that to see if that was it, it wasn't. I stopped eating dairy for a week, nothing changed.

I have a pretty good diet, healthy BMI, don't drink or smoke.

Anyone know what I can go back to the GP with? Its really getting to me.

When did this problem develop, did this start when you were in France?.

Was the sample tested for Giardiasis?. Something is causing this and your stool samples should be further tested.

No it started two weeks before France and was self medicating with over the counter stuff.

I had this for 6 weeks over the summer. Tests all came back clear. It has gradually settled but still get episodes on occasion. I've put it down to just a quirk of my body following gall bladder removal.

Hmm, I had a hysterectomy in March, but don't think they're related.

I'm so fed up of getting up in the middle of the night.

Did they check for blood?

If the GP doesn't know I'd ask for a referral to a specialist.
