I have 2dc, 5 and 2. I am constantly tired and most days after the initial breakfast sugar boost I just feel rubbish. Groggy and heavy feeling around the eyes and head, headachy etc. Nothing painful but just generally feeling rubbish. I take antidepressants 20mg which help me get by. I've had a difficult few years. I don't want to take a higher dose and don't think I need to. I don't think I'm depressed but years of interrupted sleep has got to me. Could it be sugar related? Any advice appreciated.

Maybe try cutting things from your diet like wheat gluten dairy etc as it could be a slight intolerance to one or more making your body work overtime to digest and turn it into energy

I should also add that in recent months I seem to have developed an allergy to something (don't know what) and so often get itchy skin with rashes that come and go

deficiencies (iron, b12, vit d3) come to my mind.
or thyroid issues.
go see your gp.

B12 helped me when I was feeling similar. I'd taken tablets before that did nothing but the Boost spray really seemed to help.

Get your vitamin d levels checked and your iron levels and thyroid.

What you describe, the allergy stuff and the itchy rashy skin, sounds like how my skin was before I developed psoriasis. Which I had for a good five years. It's nearly gone now, and I believe this to be due to giving up all sugar, including alcohol, and eating fermented foods. I'm not a medic.

I've seen a GP before about the rash and he said it's hives

'hives' is just a description of the rash. it doesn't say where they come from.

ChocoholicsAnonymous · 01/09/2017 22:02

True and it's annoying not knowing what's causing it. I get like red streaks that look like scratch marks then they'll be gone in the morning

It could be an auto immune reaction. Stress and exhaustion related

northernbobbydazzler · 01/09/2017 22:06

Ask for a thyroid check, mines underactive & I can tell when I need a higher dose of thyroxine as my skin starts to itch particularly tops of arms, neck & chest.

That's interesting thank you
