PLease help I am worried sick. Was taking dd to bed tonite , shes 3 , and as ahe didnt want to go I pulled her arm to move her along and she dropped to the floor in protest. i pulled her back up to her feet and took her up.
It was nothing that doesnt happen a hundred times a day. But she complaained her arm hurt , and wont move it. Shes holding it to her side. Its not her shoulder as we can move her whole arm, its her elbow, she cant bend it. I gave her some calpol and shes gone to sleep now. But her arm is just led my her side and if we try to bend her arm she starts to cry. i fell sick to my stomach that I have hurt her. I have tried to ring nhs direct but they are busy. If she wakes in the night should I take her to casualty. I habe just rested an ice pack against it for 10 mins.. HElp I just dont know what to do and am panicking.

Thank you to everyone for all the messages - sorry I havent come back to you before now.

I did end up taking her to a and e as she woke up at 11.30pm crying in pain. The doc first bent it and she cried so they sent her for an xray , and they couldnt find anything wrong so the doc just bent it again and she was fine. It was a miracle. The doc said it might be where she just hadnt moved it since it happened. We were in and out in 50 mins as there was only one othre person in front of us,

A massive thanks to all who responded - there is nothing worse than thinking youve hurt your baby. I was thinking I was going to have to be interviewed by social services and everything. It gives yo uthe worst cramps in your tummy. But thankfully shes fine so thanks again everyone.

Definately don't feel guilty, this has happened to ds1 3 times now. We eventually got them to show us how to pop it back ourselves should it happen again (the suggestion further down to touching finger to nose would probably work). I am glad that your daughter is ok now.

Very glad to hear she (and you!) are ok
