Hypersensitive to bodily sensations

I feel EVERYTHING. Every palpitation, every pain, every tingle, every itch etc.Nothing goes unnoticed and then it becomes highlighted so my mind is solely focussed on it. Then my mind goes 0-60 instantly and panics over what it is. I know I have health anxiety but this level of hypersensitivity baffles even my GP. Anyone got any strategies?

Is it a sensory processing disorder like some asd children have. Im sure adults have it too but as diagnosis is a fairly recent thing we usually think of it in terms of children. Look up what helps them..eg weighted blanket to wrap up tightly in.
I may be completely off here..sorry.

Following as I am very similar. I've started seeing a health psychologist to see if we can turn down my brains sensitivity. I get migraine, vertigo, allergies, asthma, palpitations, itches, stomach aches, etc etc. I was told I am sensitive to changes in the atmosphere, hormonal changes etc. It's completely exhausting.
No advice I'm afraid...

I've heard there is a link between feeling pain more and early onset menopause - so may be hormonal?

chamenanged30 · 21/08/2017 20:57

I'm 29 so no menopause imminent I'm sure. It's ruining my life because there's always something.

I'm nearly 46 and am pretty certain I'm struggling with perimenopause but according to my Dr I'm too young! I had terrible periods, never got on with the pill and think I'm just ultra sensitive to hormonal and bodily changes, even entirely normal ones.

My friend went through menopause at 31 - early onset can happen

In your case I think I would look more at counseling etc as it sounds more like anxiety than physical symptoms
