Weird symptoms, ovarian cyst?

For the past few days I have had really bad bloating and pain low down (slightly more to the left), last night I started getting a weird pain in my bottom, the pain is still there today along with the tummy pain. I feel tired, not like me as I'm usually unable to sit still.

I have suffered from cysts for years but never bad enough to need treatment. I am on the contraceptive pill and am in the middle of my cycle so it's not period pain.

Could the bottom pain be related to cysts ?

Well yes it could be but it could be a number of other things too presumably. I have ovarian cysts and they cause all sorts of aches and pains. I would get it checked out if it doesn't pass quickly.

It could also be diverticulosis - small pouches (diverticula ) that form in your intestines. Typical pain is low down in the left - sigmoid colon. Have you had any constipation, as that is often the cause.

Thank you Nan that could be it. Should I go to the doctor or will it fix itself? I have just taken some pail killers as I'm working tonight ☹️

Sadly, Lovemusic, it won't resolve itself. Diverticulae tend to develop with age - about 50% of people over 50 will have diverticulae , the percentage rising with age, often without symptoms. However, it can develop into diverticulitis, when the pouches become infected. This can become quite serious, if one bursts leading to peritonitis, and is treated with antib's.
I'm an old gimmer at 70, and recently had a CT scan to try to get to the bottom of my long-term digestive problems (mainly to rule out pancreatic cancer, which it did - but showed "fatty atrophy" in the pancreas), but it also showed diverticulae in the transverse colon (the bit that runs under the diaphragm) which didn't really surprise me, and the GP seemed to think that is what is causing my pain - I'm not sure about that - I'm waiting for a gastroscopy for a bit more info.
Anyway, a high fibre diet is usually recommended for Div, to keep the bowels open, unless there IS an infection, in which case a low fibre diet is suggested! (I currently take Fybogel to avoid constipation)

So, I think it would be a good idea to see your GP, and see what he/she thinks, as maybe there could be another reason. In the meantime take steps to avoid constipation - as this is what causes the problem!

I am in my mid 30's but have had a lot of problems with bowels and problems with cysts. I was tested for crohns and celiacs last year but got the all clear. I get these pains occasionally, they usually last 2-3 days and then vanish again but the pains are quite strong and I'm in agony, this is the first time. Have had the pain in my bottom with it.
