Slapped cheek as an adult?

DD is just getting over slapped cheek, definitely that, confirmed by doctor.

Now I started with a sore throat, but now feel awful. I can barely move, everything hurts, I'm hot and cold. My mum says I never had it as a child.

I didn't know adults could get it?

Yes adults can get it and they get the most awful joint aches with it. Hope you feel better soon.

LIZS · 17/08/2017 08:57

Yes you can , symptoms like flu.

QueenJulian · 17/08/2017 09:01

Adults get much worse symptoms than children e.g. pain in joints as PP mentioned.

Thanks. God I feel awful. I'm awake now because I can't sleep because of the pain. At the moment my throat and ears are the worst. Honestly can't ever remember feeling this awful

I had it as an adult a few years back. Felt really unwell with all muscles and joints aching, especially around my hips for some reason. A couple of days after the aches started, I remember developing a lacy body wide rash.

Also had an awful pain behind my eyes. Hope you feel better soon!

Yep, I had it a few weeks ago. It's awful. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Most adults had it as children and so are immune. However if you didn't have it, then you can get it.

My mum says I didn't have it as a child. Which is annoying, since I did have German measles and mumps!

Feel slightly more human today. But can t so much more than come downstairs.
