Is this German Measles?

ds2 was under the weather last week and not himself. He is almost 11 months.
On Wednesday he had a high temperature. On Thursday I noticed lots of tiny spots come up on this face, neck and torso (front and back) but not legs and arms and he still had a temperature. He looks a complete sight, poor thing, although today the spots have started to fade. Does this sound like German Measles? My other son had exactly the same thing at 6 months and the doctor said it could be, but never tested for it. Anyone's had this with a definite diagnosis?

Ds1 had definite german measles. He wasn't ill with it at all though (I knew it was german measles as he was the third child down the line to catch it- exactly the right incubation period, previous cases had been GP confirmed etc). His rash looked EXACTLY like the german measles rashes I saw on google. DS2 got sniffly at the same time, but no rash so I wasn't sure about him (plus he was under a year and bfed- and I had german measles so he may have still had immunity from me).

Hmmm! I've had to keep my two from going to their dad's this weekend as their stepbrother aged 3 has got 'Hand, foot and mouth'. Apparently it affects younger children worse than older children and adults and is very infectious.

According to ex-h, stepb has got little white blisters inside his mouth (can't eat much), on the palms of his hands and soles of his feet. Also on his bum so it looks like the sores are on the most sensitive areas. It may not be what your ds2 has got but I thought I'd better post so you are aware of it. Good luck - hope he's better soon. x
