If you're on the mini-pill...

Do you take it at exactly the same time each day? And if so, do you have regular or no periods?

Sorry this is TMI, but I am having a nightmare with bleeding on the mini-pill. I can't take the combined pill anymore due to ocular migraines. I was on cerazette for 7 months and bled all the time. Came off it to ttc DC2, that took a year during which my periods were all over the place. Had him last September and since then have tried desogestrel (for 3 months) which also made me bleed constantly and made me extremely depressed and now am on levenorgestrel.

This has been slightly better in that I have a sex drive again and my mood is much happier. But still getting a lot of bleeding which is impossible to predict. I can't tell what's an actual period and what isn't. Sometimes I bleed in the morning but am ok but evening, then the same the next day, etc. Sometimes I bleed after sex. Sometimes I go a week or so with nothing and then it starts again.

I usually take the pill sometime between about 6 and 7am (it has a 3 hour window). Am wondering whether taking it at exactly the same time every day would help!

I am on Cerelle, which I think is the same as Cerazette. I just take it at "bedtime" so any time between about 10pm and 11.30pm. I have missed the occasional one. I have not had a period or any bleeding for the entire time I have been on it, which must be at least two years now, maybe three. I had similar with the Mirena (no bleeding/periods) and I'm about to get an implant, which I'm hoping will be the same. Have you tried either of those?

I'm sorry you are having so many problems. I hope you can find something that works for you Flowers

Cerazette was the worst for me. I haven't tried the implant or mirena as they are the same hormone so I am worried that the bleeding would be non stop on those too. From what I hear doctors tend to be reluctant to remove them unless you given them at least several months to settle down. If I react like I did with cerazette there's no way I could cope with several months!

Am starting to think that hormonal contraceptives aren't for me anymore but there aren't really any other options at the moment.

I was on the mini pill though I can't remember which one, and I bled for 10 days and then again mid cycle. I came off it and was going to try the Mirena coil as less hormones, but my GP couldn't actually offer me an appointment to fit it within time after I'd had the swabs done so I gave up and used condoms.

I have just started my 4th month of Cerelle and I am having the same problem, it's driving me mad.

I'm not taking it for contraceptive reasons but I can see it would be really effective as my sex like is non existent. Depressingly, I don't even care which could be the pill also I suppose.

I'm really hoping it settles soon.
