2 weeks ago tomorrow DD (9)sprained her ankle
On Friday we went to casualty & it was "sprained" walk on it & come back if it isn't better in 5 days

On Friday last week we went back to Casualty as it really wasn't better - she has damaged her ligaments (& maybe chipped a bone) no need for an Xray just pain releif & use it

Now she is in more pain than she was - she doesn't want the Calpol and she won't walk on it - what should I do now?

firtsly insist she has calpol! and or ibuprofen

and if in doubt back to casualty

raspberryberet · 28/03/2007 19:55

I'd get her back to casualty again, I think.

ligaments is notoriously painful but I would insist on an xray I think.

She can't have Ibuprofen (she's asthmatic)

I also think she is a bit depressed - if you can say that about a 9yo

well then you should insist she has calpol!

if a child needed antibiotics and didnt want them you wouldnt let them refuse, would you?

She says it makes her feel fuzzy if she takes it too much

I have said to take the under 6 stuff as it's weaker - she is so stubborn

She has some before school & at 4 when she gets home from school - then we fight about the one at 8pm

Poor sausage is now constipated - I guess she isn't moving around much
