Cervical ectropian

Hello everyone, just looking for some advice.
I've had a cervical ectropian twice before (first time I had symptoms of bleeding after intercourse was in 2014). I had it cauterised. Second time was in 2015 and again I had it cauterised.
In 2016 I(by which time I was pregnant) I had it again. I know because I had the bleeding checked and the midwife saw it. I didn't have it treated (not sure I would have been allowed to anyway).
So now I'm having bother with it again - same as before - bleeding after sex. Tmi coming up here.... At times it can be heavy, almost like a period. I've been to my doctor (which is a new gp surgery for me because I moved house). They've now said they don't cauterise them any ore. Do you think I should seek a second opinion? Or go see my old gp who was fantastic?
It's putting me off sex obviously. All I can think about is "oh god. I hope I'm not bleeding all over him."
My partner completely understands. He knows it's not a serious problem but it's still something that plays on my mind when I'm with him.
Should I pay to have it done privately?
I had my smear test recently and the nurse noticed it. She wasn't going to say anything until I said I knew it was there. That's when she told me they don't cauterise them now. The doctor gave me antibiotics for a slight bacterial infection (something about a mix of bacteria in discharge, but not a yeast infection). I haven't noticed a difference in my discharge at all and don't believe the bleeding is from an infection. It's the ectropian!! It seems to me like the doctors and nurses are fobbing me off.
I just want a referral to the hospital to have it cauterised again 😢 Wasn't a problem before??

Ask for a 2nd opinion. Ask to be referred to a gynae. Or if you can afford it, pay to see one. Or go to a FPA or a GUM clinic. Sounds as if you are being fobbed off.

I suffer with this occasionally, and more than once the bleeding has been almost like a period. I've never been offered cauterisation before though, I sort of just suck it up and get on with it. DH isn't bothered by it, although he does worry that he's hurt me (which he hasn't, it's not hugely painful) I wasn't aware they could even do anything about it.
How effective is cauterisation really if it keeps coming back? Is there a more permanent method of dealing with it? If it's a real problem, then I'd definitely at least look into private treatment. Often when you're paying, they offer different treatments to what is available on the NHS.

Hi just need some reassurance ! 20 months ago I found out I had a ectropian sent me to colposcopy had smear said was ok. Last week went to doc with a missed period. She said was too early for smear but looked at my cervix said she’ll send me back to colposcopy to get smear etc. Went on Thursday she did smear said while there she’ll take biopsy after putting paste on and it showed mild cell changes. Does this mean it’s bad. Or could it come back ok ? I’m going out of my mind with worry. Can’t sleep or eat. I’m scared to death. Thankyou. X
