Order of losing milk teeth

Hi
DS is just 7 and has not lost any milk teeth yet (didn't get them until 13 mo old). This morning he bumped one of the big top ones at the front with his plastic water bottle spout and now it is wobbly, much to his excitement! I'm unsure what to do, whether to take him to the dentist or whether it is just a normal wobbly milk tooth. He couldn't surely have bumped it that hard with a plastic spout that it would make a milk tooth wobble? I was drying his hair after swimming at the time and didn't even notice he'd done it! I'm only concerned as I thought it was always bottom front that went first. Can anyone help please?

I wouldn't worry too much. Even if it was the bump that caused it to wobble, I'm pretty sure any dentist would say it's due to fall out soon anyway.

I've always assumed that they fall out in the order in which they erupted, but since babies don't always get teeth in the right order, it wouldn't surprise me that some children lose them in a different order too.

The only exception to that would be teeth that don't fall out when the adult teeth start coming through. I needed years of complicated orthodontic work after a baby canine refused to budge and messed up the adult teeth that tried to appear around it.

Usually the lower central incisors are the first to go but it's all quite variable. I seriously wouldn't go to the dentist unless he's in pain (pain when he's wobbling it or eating is fine, pain at rest or at night not so much).
When's his next check up? Is he big or small or average for his age etc?

Hi thank you both. He is big for his age, wearing size 9 to 10 already! Next check up not for 5 months and he got his milk teeth in the usual order. He's not in pain unless he bumps it on food so lots of soft things to eat to see if it firms up?

I'd just carry on like normal tbh... if it starts to change colour etc then maybe bring your check up forward.

I never got to grips with baby teeth, they're way too unpredictable!!

Thank very much!
