Best supplements/food/tonics/general shit to INCREASE ENERGY

I'm late 40's, sleep really well, take a fair amount of ibuprofen for my back/hips, usually get 2/3 hours of walking in every day.

But I still don't feel all boundy with energy like I did in my 20's/30's - I'm sure that's likely natural but I'd still like to increase it.

What are the BEST ways to increase energy?

I take vit D spray every day. I took floradix through the winter. I eat a fair amount of veg.

I'd ease off the ibuprofen - you might be causing damage to your kidneys with such a heavy use

Beyond that you need to get to root of what's causing your tiredness to be able to tackle it

I don't think there's any reason though, I had blood tests for cholesterol a couple of years ago and they ran a whole panel and everything was fine apart from the cholesterol. I think it's just getting older.

I wish I could do without the ibuprofen but unless they give me a new pelvis/hips it's not going to happen. I had the stronger co codamol on prescription about 5 years ago and it was a great painkiller but it made me too woozy for work and too chilled out.

I've recently started taking the B12 Boost spray. It has made a huge difference to my energy levels.

I take an iron supplement which seems to stop me feeling so fatigued, maybe I'm a little deficient.
Do you drink enough water too? I find if I'm even slightly thirsty I become completely exhausted

Get your kidney function tested then - honestly it's a horror drug for causing damage to them

What is your bp like?

It's not just getting older of course there's a cause

Y are your hips/back so bad, is there no other treatment for them?

PollyPerky · 30/07/2017 07:27

Have you had any 1:1 support for your back in the form of Pilates, Yoga or osteopathy?

How do you manage 2-3 hrs walking a day? Is this work, shopping, going out for walks? It sounds a lot if you are measuring it properly. Is it brisk continuous walking (ie dog walking) or just pottering along?

If you are late 40s the tiredness could be peri meno and hormonal.
