How often do you poo?

Sorry if this is a bit yucky - I only poo every few days. I'm definitely not constipated, I think I eat fairly healthily, but I just don't poo very often. Would like other people's routine to see if I have a problem!

As long as you're not struggling and haven't any gut ache or a change in habits/consistency, don't worry about it. I have an IBD so I sometimes go 20 times a day....this is not showing off Grin

I was recently told by a doctor that the 'at least one a day' thing is a myth.

I'd say I go about 3 times a fortnight but it's not uncomfortable or difficult. It's been this way as long as I remember (bar pregnancy). OH goes twice a day, DD1 goes every 2/3 days. I think normal is just different for different people.

Once a week is very very common for me.

I do go more the week my period is due. Maybe two or three times that week.

I do have IBS which means that if I'm constipated I can go much longer than one week and will need some help going.

I mostly go once a week without being constipated and I'm not uncomfortable and I can go when I need to very easily. My stools are not hard and I don't need to strain.

My husband goes three times a day and worries about my bowel habits due to the bowel cancer increased risk he read about once.

I have done a massive u-turn in my diet recently. I'm still not going more regularly.

My 'routine' is a bit like yours OP. It's become a running joke it our house with DH and DCs (I don't mind). They all think it's weird so I spoke to my GP about it (doc, not grandparents Grin). I'm perfectly healthy, have a mostly good diet and he told me that it's fine - we are all different. If I was constipated or uncomfortable, that'd be an issue but I'm not. I just don't go as much

Ermm about every 6 days Blush. I don't drink enough, have a poor diet and a nervous pooer (have to be at home or at my mums). I know this is not normal at all and need to make some liftestyle changes

LivingOnAnIsland · 28/07/2017 19:24

Actually Bored, I only poo at home too. Can't do it at work or in a restaurant.

Once a day at 7am! Totally normal poo, have been constipated only once in my life after birth of DS. Normal weight, not as active as I'd like, healthy diet with loads of fluids.

demirose87 · 28/07/2017 19:39

Every morning before I get a bath, then maybe in the evening but not always. Being pregnant though I'm finding I'm going more.

At least once a day, more usually twice, sometimes three times. I have a good diet and drink a reasonable amount of water, pretty low on exercise though. Quite jealous of those people who can comfortably go only once a week. Can't imagine how that can even work - but obviously it does for some people.
