Am sick of finding dh's logs afloat. What does he need to eat/not eat to stop this happening?

crystalpony · 26/03/2007 21:00

Fat I think.

ceolas · 26/03/2007 21:00

I think it's actually a good sign?

Nikki76 · 26/03/2007 21:00

Apparently its too much fat in the diet - fat floats so it makes the poo float......what a lovely topic by the way! [grins]

Nbg · 26/03/2007 21:01

Nice

Is it more fibre. I could be wrong.

flossie64 · 26/03/2007 21:02

definatley fat, it can be too much in the diet or as with my dd an intolerence to it.

deaconblue · 26/03/2007 21:03

He gave up bread to try to make a difference. But no luck. Gross, I know, but I knew mumsnetters could help
Maybe more fibre will help, might suggest bran flakes

not so healthy for your social life when friends spot your hubby's stinking logs...

OP posts:
deaconblue · 26/03/2007 21:07

ok big contradition here -some say fat = floaters, others say fibre = floaters. Shall I just ditch him and find non floaty (and richer and better looking while I'm at it) hubby instead?

OP posts:
Nikki76 · 26/03/2007 21:08

You could try googling it and see if could get some medical info....but I really dread to think what it would bring up....apparently there are people out there who get off on watching people crap so I'm sure there are web sites dedicated to it!!

Hassled · 26/03/2007 21:09

They did a whole feature on this once on Braniac - Jon Tickle ate a load of food that floats, to see if that made his poo float, and then vice versa - results inconclusive, I seem to remember

deaconblue · 26/03/2007 21:09

tee hee at Jon Tickle's poo

They are definitely meant to float. Not floating is Bad.

Greenshoots · 26/03/2007 21:10

I have recently become (again) totally veggie and avoided fat and salt etc - and by God, I have been shittin battle ships, at LEAST twice a day. We are talking shits of 20cm length and at least 10cm girth, AT LEAST twice daily. You don't know you're born, you lot.

Colour - tawny, generally, with the occasional hint of russet. Yellow/black flecks, natch.

deaconblue · 26/03/2007 21:12

aha here we have it...
floatypoo

OP posts:
deaconblue · 26/03/2007 21:12

OP posts:
Aero · 26/03/2007 21:13

Well, someone had to find a link

SlightlyMadSpringBunny · 26/03/2007 21:14

Healthy stools should float.

If they sink you don't have enough fibre in your diet.

If they don't flush you have too much fat in the diet - which is what I am assuming we are talking about here.

alll you need to know about healthy pooh

Oh and for anyone interested there is a Bristol Scale for stool forms...warning - bit bizzare!!!

SlightlyMadSpringBunny · 26/03/2007 21:15

I wish i was quicker at googling and linking - there were only 3 posts when I started to write that...
