Rash, Eczema & red dots

Hello all, my dd (just coming up to 10 months) has had a rash under her chin for ages. I have been applying sudocreme, then vaseline, then the doctor prescribed Hydrocortisone. It went away completely a couple of days ago, but then the next day it was back again. I am wondering if it could have anything to do with her having yoghurts? Is these anything out there which is soya based or something non dairy if that is what is causing this? Also how on earth do i then get her used to dairy?
The doctor also said she has eczema, as she has come out with dry patches all over her body (mostly behind elbows and knees) the only thing he said i could use was sudocreme is this true, is there nothing i could put in her bath? To go back to what i said up top, she also now and again comes out in clusters of red dots on her torso, it doesnt affect her, but am wondering if it is an intolerance or allergy or something.

Any advice would be appreciated.

is it a dribbling rash, from lots of dribble whilst teething? really hard to dry and keep it dry, so can really get sore...try vaseline on it at night, when she sleeps or the sudocreme...keep it really dry during the day if you can

also, i would not cut dairy out of her diet without speaking to your doc re a dairy intolerance/ allergy..

there are things like Oilatum and balneum that can go in the bath, and aqueous cream instead of soap and diprobase to go on after if she has dry patches.....

It seemed to have started as a dribbly rash, but everytime her 'eczema' gets worse the rash under her chin looks worse.
I have stopped using anything in the bath, apart from plain water, is that alright or will i be making it worse?

i would not use anything for the moment , unless it was something like oilatum

if your doc is not that forthcoming, you could try your local chemist, they can offer good advice and give you the right stuff..also if you join the 'care at the chemist; scheme' you can get things like aqueous cream FOC

Hi H111 - plain water in the bath is better than water with soap, etc. Just make sure that it is coolish, not too hot, as that will aggravate excema, and make sure that you dry in the corners and creases particularly well.

PS I always notice that ds2's excema flairs up when he baths after I have washed my hair. On days when there might be shampoo residue in the bath, rinse it out well with the shower, before filling it for his bath.

You could try the aveeno creams and products too. I've found them very good.
