my daughter has ahd molloscum on the tops of her legs and bottom for ages now. She developed one on her arm and the doctor confimred the diagnosis.

she now has one under her eye and one right on her eyelid where the eyelashes come out.

They don't bother her but do you think I should do anthing about them?

I am still waiting for them to run their course, but the ones near her eyes are a bit worrying - have you ever had to deal with this?

DS has grow a few more lumps near the eyes and in the edge of the eyelid as your DD.

I have been repeatedly told they would disapear without intervention but they have been around for more than a year now.

However... I checked for what can be done and from what I found they are deal with as warts so... preffered to wait.

HTH (and somebody please get me out of the mistake if I am wrong)

Is it definitely molluscum around the eyes? Ds had something there that was just milia

Sorry to not be more help

what is the procedure if it's milia?

do you treat?

No, no need

I was so tempted to have a go at ds's with a pin but I just left it and it eventually wore off as the skin renewed itself

a mild exfoliant would help if it is milia I expect - I don't know much about molloscum, sorry

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 16:30

I tried to find a good picture but only found the spotty baby type image

it was like a waxy white lump under the skin, very small, but kind of noticeable

I have had them myself before and you can get them out with a pin (but I am sure you are meant to leave them )

I have also considered using a pin (not near the eyes, of course) but I read that the way the virus spread is through the liquid contained in the lump. So... since then, nails well short to avoid him breaking them through scratching.

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 16:54

Sorry, the pin thing was for milia, not molluscum

friendlyedjit · 24/03/2007 19:27

If they are molluscum they usually go within 18 months to 2 years.
Wouldn't use a pin ,as there is a possibility of scarring. There is a cream called crystacide ( main component hydrogen peroxide) which has been promoted to speed their demise, but I think time and ones own immune system deal with them best.

thanks - helpful and reassuring so far - anyone else?
