I had a Vit D deficiency earlier this year. Treated with strong supplements and now all OK. Had a blood test about a month ago to check levels, and they did a liver function test at the same time. My bilirubin level was 29, when should be under 20 apparently. They asked me to repeat test 4 weeks later, which was last week. Phoned for results today, bilirubin has gone up to 37 but doctor doesn't want to see me?
Am not quite sure why they wabted to repeat the test if they don't want to act on it, but thats another story!
Does anyone have experience of raised bilirubin and what causes this? I've googled, and all it comes up with is jaundice, and I have no visible symptoms of this. All other liver function tests were fine. I'm getting a doctors appt to discuss, my my GP isn't free for 6 weeks so will be a while before I can discuss with her.
