I have suspected fibromyalgia and my rheumatology is taking a while to come through. So far I've only been given Naproxen even though I told the doctor that they aren't working and are giving me stomach problems. I'm also taking OTC Cocodamol, but not really helping. I have been on naproxen before but they didn't help, so was put on Etoricoxib which again didn't help and made me sick. He out me back on naproxen and I said they didn't work before but he said "well I want you to try it again anyway". I have particularly bad back pain just now and I don't know what to do. He's not listening to me that naproxen and other anti inflammatories don't work and hurt my stomach. Any advice? I would really appreciate it

Anti inflams don't tend to work for fibro pain, so that's probably why they aren't working for you. Your doctor sounds like his knowledge is quite limited on fibro. Is there another gp in your practice you can speak to? I went through all of this when being diagnosed too hun so I know how you feel. I actually just switched practices all together as mine were useless. I have a brilliant gp now, maybe it's worth a go? Hope you feel better soon hunny lots of love. In the meantime have you tried deep heat spray? Breaks me out in a rash if I put it on my back but it works pretty good xx

Thanks for the reply. Glad to know others have went through this annoying gp experience. If you don't mind me asking, what medications are you on for fibro? And do they help?

Hi hun hope you feel better today you sound miserable and fed up which is understandable.

I'm on

Pregabalin
Tramadol
Diazepam
Methocarbamol
Duloxetine
Morphine (ER)

AND a few medications for other things but the above are what I'm on for fibro. They do help and fibro is treatable and different medication work for different people. Currently pregnant though so have to wean off most of them xx
