Hi
DD is on day 4 of chicken pox. She's got a few on her face most of which have crusted now but there's one right in the middle of her chin which I think is infected - can't tell if it's filled with pus or whether it's just a soggy scab due to the all the finger sucking that's going on. It does look a bit crater like which worries me a bit. I've been slapping aqueous calamine all over but trying to let this one dry up. Should I try Fucidin on it or leave alone?
Thanks, any advice appreciated.

fucidin can't do it any harm can it?

just make sure it doesn't spread, my dd ended up with a bad infection and on antibiotics after chicken pox. She still has the odd scar.

Is fucidin a steroid cream? Only someone mentioned on another thread not using steroid creams on CPox as it is the herpes virus and makes it spread - don't know if this is true?

Thanks for the replies, took her to the nurse at my practice this morning just to check it out and she gave me bactroban to try on it.

We got fucidin for ds's infected chicken pox and oral antibiotics they ahve gone down now he's finished the oral ones but they're still itchy and swollen (he had cp about 8 weeks ago!) we're still putting fucidin on those ones but if they carry on i'm taking him back to the gp next week.

Poor ds Ledodgy he/you must be really fed up by now. Hoping this bactroban stuff is going to work, chin looking marginally better today.

Infected chicken pox spots generally need antibiotics - so says my mother (who is a doctor) .
