Hi,
After waiting 4 mths for podiatrist appt.,I saw her (Podiatrist) for 1st time today.
After discussing & looking at my feet problems-aching arches, sore heels, burning on balls of feet ,she has given me orthotic insoles with V. High cushioning at arches.
What I'm wondering is that they feel very uncomfortable to wear,is this a good sign,if you know what I mean.Seemingly its to correct my foot from rolling inwards.
I keep having to take them off after an hour or so, but she said to wear them all the time except when in bed!
If I persevere will they get easier to walk with over time?
I'm really desperate as pain in feet has been bad for about 9 mths.
Does anyone know if this is normal for orthotic insoles to be quite uncomfortable at first?
Many thanks, R.

both DDs and myself have been prescribed these at various times. The instructions we have all be given is that you should build up your wear time gradually - 30 mins for a couple of days, then 60 mins etc etc so that after a couple of weeks you can wear them all the time. I am shocked that you have just been told to wear them all the time and I am not surprised you are uncomfortable. I would query the advice you have been given myself but if you don't want to just build up your wear time gradually.

have several pairs...a couple, harder type for sports then an everyday pair..always uncomforable to start with but bettwer when body adjust to re-alignment. If I don't where mine I develop real problem with one of my achilles tendons (plus aching hip and back !!) which does correct once I wear the orthodics regularly - make sure they're fittedd properly and they should really help...
