Would you go to the dr about this?

Hi, I am having period style pains, but no period. I'm mid cycle and a quick google suggests ovulation pains but it has been going on for nearly a week and I have never had this mid-cycle before.

Another thing is that on Thursday I suddenly bloated (looked very pregnant), which usually happens about 12 hrs before I start my period and lasts for first day. This lasted until yesterday morning, but has gone now.

I'm only thinking of going to the dr because this is unusual for me, but the cramps aren't overly painful and the bloating did go down so I think it may be wasting the drs time?

Anyone else had this, and if so, what did you do?

Sounds like pregnancy.

Silvercatowner · 26/06/2017 18:24

Yes, but I'd do a pregnancy test first - it would be the first thing a dr would do.

FallenSkies · 26/06/2017 19:06

Wouldn't it be too early for any symptoms? I will leave it 10 days til I'm due then and take a test before I bother the dr. Thank you

I would go tomorrow. I immediate thought of ovarian cancer or an ovarian cyst.

U can't just suggest someone has cancer. What planet do you live on?

FallenSkies · 26/06/2017 23:46

See the cancer thing came up on the dreaded google searches but I figured it was a bit extreme and unlikely? Also, doesn't the bloating last a bit longer? Please tell me it would be reasonable to wait until end of cycle before seeing the doctor? Surely even if it were worst case 10 days won't make a significant difference?

It's not indigestion is it? Sometimes I've eaten something that hasn't agreed with me and my intestines will get a bit gripey.

I'd leave it a few days, see if it passes, take a pregnancy test if that's a possibility and if no better, then see your GP.

Titsywoo · 26/06/2017 23:57

I tend to go with waiting about 3 weeks to see a doctor unless you have severe symptoms. It's more likely to be a blip in your cycle or something. Ovarian cancer very very unlikely. To the poster who said that please don't do that. Unnecessary scare mongering!

FallenSkies · 27/06/2017 00:03

Thank you everyone. I will wait a bit but if it doesn't change will def see the dr in a couple of weeks in case it is serious. Really appreciate all replies

The cramps could be implantation pains. I had symptoms as soon as I conceived. Not saying it is pregnancy, just suggesting.

sorry, didn't mean to scaremongering. However, in answer to the op's post, I think she should go to the gp, to eliminate the possible more sinister alternatives. However, I hope it's something innocent such as early pregnancy (if so, congratulations!), or ovulation pain.
