Keep losing weight without really trying.....

I know this would be some people's dream but I don't want to fade away!

Before having DS, who's 7.5 months I was about 9 stone. Went up to 13 stone during pg and at the moment I'm 8.5 stone. I'm bf and walking more than ever before, but not dieting, or doing any strenous excerise (or any organised exercise ). Lots of people (including the GP when I saw her for something else) say I'm looking a lot thinner. DH says my bottom has shrunk as well. And I fit clothes I hadn't fit for years.

So should I just be happy that I am weighing less? Will it all come back when I stop bf?

Any thoughts out there?

PC, I found exactly the same thing after I had dd and went down to far less than my pre-pregnancy weight. The bad news is it all piled back on as soon as I stopped bf and went back to work - no exercise and constant snacking took its toll!

PiccadillyCircus

are you otherwise feeling ok?

A friend of mine developed problems with her thyroid after her preganncy (which apparently is quite normal), and did lose quite a bit of weight.

If it keeps going and you're not feeling 100% I'd have it checked, just in case!

(don't mean to scare you though, it was nothing serious!)

PicadillyCircus - I also shrunk when breastfeeding. I didn't put on all that much weight during pregnancy, and I went down to below my pre-pregnancy weight whilst breastfeeding dd. And I was eating mountains of food! It was great. But I did pile on a few pounds when the breastfeeding tailed off (I'm now down to one feed a day, dd is nearly 2).

But I would maybe get yourself checked out anyway, as it does sound like you've lost quite a lot of weight. Then hopefully you'd be reassured and can just enjoy it.

Thanks CM and webmum I had been wondering if there could be something like that. I generally feel OK although quite tired (but I think having a baby could be the reason ) but if it goes on too much then I will have it checked.

I think it's more likely that come September when I go back to work that no exercise and access to lots of snacks will see it all come back on....
