Hi there, massive anxiety sufferer here. A lot of my anxieties centre around my health.

So these blotches appeared on my foot a few weeks ago. They went away after about 24-48 hours. They've now come back on the same part of the same foot.

What could it be? I've got a doctors appointment for Tuesday but I'm so worried so any help is much appreciated.

My mum has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and although I'm of a healthy weight, I have always eaten too much sugar so one worry is that it could be a diabetes symptom.

My anxiety has been quite severe as of late so I'm hoping it may be linked to that.

I suffer from a condition which makes me break into hives randomly but this is very different to what normally happens. The red swellings don't travel around. They feel different to hives, if that makes sense.

Please help... a very worried mum Sad

Agee with pp.
You need love, understanding, & support.
Is there anyone you can confide in in RL?
A friend? Family member?

Can you apply any of the mindfulness you have learned to your foot. Really notice it, in detail, but try really hard not to look for meaning. And notice your anxiety but try to let it go and not get drawn into it. I'm sure there are others with much much more mindfulness experience than me who can talk you through it a bit more.

I've only been doing mindfulness for 10 days so still so much to learn for me. Just hoping it somehow sorts me out.

I have odd patches of skin that get a bit irritated and pink from time to time. I don't have diabetes or any other underlying condition.

Like pp, I really would recommend sertraline, taking medication does seem daunting and I waited 18 months thinking I would 'get better' by myself before taking the plunge. It is such a relief not to feel like I did, which is really similar to how you are feeling. You don't have to live like this, and once you feel better, you'll be better able to engage in things like mindfulness. Probably at the moment you're too anxious to get a handle on it, and that's not your fault, but it sounds like you need a break from the anxiety and medication will give you that. Good luck Flowers

I'd have thought like that if it had happened once but I find it odd twice in a few weeks. Exact same area, exact same rash.

If it's something in the garden that is irritating your skin it's most likely to be the same rash. Is it where your shoes rub your feet perhaps?

I get health anxiety too, it's a bitch. Most days I have symptoms of a dreadful, terminal illness.

I find exercise is my quickest fix for anxiety. An hour long walk and I feel much better, I know you can't do this but walk up and down the stairs until you are out of breath. It's the endorphins which are released which help.

Thank you all. I think I'm over the worst of today's melt down. If only it wasn't a daily thing Sad Your support has been invaluable, thank you all. I know something's got to give as I can't go on like this. I'll be taking all your advice on board. I need to find a way to get myself out of this.

i found this to be a great help when i slid back into health anxiety. i would listen at night, in bed with headphones. its ok if you fall asleep, i like to think your brain still takes it in. he has other helpful videos on similar topics. if you listen each night it can really help.

Looks very much like contact dermatitis to me, OP - I get this frequently, especially in the summer when I go barefoot a lot, although it also occurs on my hands.

You've come into contact with something or other which has irritated your skin, that's all.

Hope you feel better soon x

Helpme214 · 18/06/2017 18:40

Thanks Cailleach. Hopefully it's just something like that x

I suffer from HA too. It's a bastard.

Just wanted to say I sometimes get those patches on my feet too. Mine appear when my feet are hot and maybe been in enclosed shoes for a while. It's like a heat reaction for me. They come and go. It's really nothing to worry about (promise!).

Helpme214 · 18/06/2017 21:29

Thanks Tanfastic. Hugs to you, HA is the worst, isn't it? Feels like it becomes too much to bear at times.

Thanks for the advice. The weather is particularly hot so I suppose that could be a factor.

Hope you're doing okay too and finding your way through this horrible condition.
