Teething - do babies get spots/rashes in other places apart from the nappy area?

DS (8months) has got quite bad nappy rash and is drooling loads so I think he might be teething - he has developed a few spots on his chin and round his mouth which I have assumed is from the drool.

Anyway, he has also got a bit of a rash on his forearms and hands - he mainly sleeps on his front, resting on his arms so could the drool have caused the spots on his arms or should I be concerned that it is something else and not from teething?

my DS had lots of spots round his mouth and chin when he was teething ... probably related to the drool issues!!!

Thanks Taylormama - I am concerned about those on his arms as nursery seem quite fussy and he has already been sent home 3 times in 2 months for various (non-important) things and I can see the same thing happening tomorrow! Not sure how much more patient my boss will be tbh.

i would argue strongly with your nursery if he is sent home for spotty arms which you know the cause of - i have had a couple of strong discussions with my nursery about a couple of incidents too so i know how it feels.

Glad I am not the only one - I had to get a doctors note last week to say he was fit to go ffs!! The doctor looked at me like I was barking mad

i understand nurseries have to be alert for infectious diseases etc but sometimes they are OTT - my DS has been sent home because he seemed to be having trouble pooing ... was not impressed ...
