I have "nappy rash" [blush]

Easiest way to explain it.... I think it may be an allergic reaction to wet wipes as I've just returned from camping? It's itchy AF and goes right from front to back. I have fussy skin, but have used this brand of wipes (buggies pure FYI) since my youngest was in nappies with no problems

Does anyone have any recommendations for right now, if it doesn't clear up after a few days I'll see my dr

Sudocreme? It helped withmy sunburn, so should help with your, er, issue.

smellsofelderberries · 14/06/2017 06:04

Yes, sudocrem. I had this from wearing pads for so long after my DD was born, it really does help!

MollyHuaCha · 14/06/2017 07:50

Fresh air!

crookedhooker · 14/06/2017 07:52

conotrane way better than sudocream. i wear incontinence pads and swear by it

Tanfastic · 14/06/2017 16:16

I had something similar (sweat rash) between my boobs a little while ago. I kept it very dry with talc and used germolene. Went in a few days,

ShelaghTurner · 14/06/2017 16:42

Oh I've been known to slap on the metanium or sudocreme. Works the same on me as it did on the dds Smile

BeyondStrongAndStable · 14/06/2017 16:57

I didn't have any sudocrem, but found a tube of bepanthan left from a recent tattoo, so have that on now. It is marginally better Grin

Get some fresh air on it! 😂 Failing that a dab of Daktacort cream.

BeyondStrongAndStable · 17/06/2017 14:15

It's still there. Bastard itchy vag Angry Blush Grin

Got some canesten today so I can rule out thrush before I see the dr

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 17/06/2017 14:23

The daktacort is used for fungal infections and sweat rash, maybe google it and see what is says as it can be bought otc

BeyondStrongAndStable · 20/06/2017 11:35

As I already had the canesten when I read that, I'm giving that a go first. No massive rush to get it cured, it's just irritating mainly Grin

The front bit of rash is marginally better, so I think it may have originated via thrush, will keep on with the canesten. The back though, doesn't seem any different.

I have psoriasis, though I didn't think it was that - hence why I haven't mentioned it before. I have both fucibet and hydrocortisone here, as well as my stronger psoriasis meds (but dr has said previously they aren't supposed to be used on genital area).

Show of hands on whether I should

  • stick with the canesten for a few more days so I can def rule out the rash being caused by thrush
  • use the fucibet in the chance it's an infection but also covering inflammation
  • use the hydrocortisone?

My Drs is helpfully closed today because of the heat, so I can't ask their opinion

Maybe stick to the thrush treatment and bepanthen until you see a Dr as they can't irritate it or make it worse. Wash gently with cool water, try and "air" it >.< and possibly dry with the hairdryer rather than towels - this was the advice my Dr gave when I had fissures, I thought he was mocking me at the time but it turns out towels can irritate sore bits and not getting them bone dry can lead to worse irritation too. Although with you mentioning psoriasis maybe bone dry is too far.. Hmm hmm. Hth

CryptoFascist · 20/06/2017 11:58

Spend as much time as you can with nothing on your bottom half and let the air get to it.
Lie sideways on a towel and put a bedsheet over yourself for modesty.
You have my sympathy, this kind of thing in hot weather is absolutely miserable.
