Prolapse problem :(

I was going to post this in postnatal health but it's quiet over there. Since having ds 4 months ago I've realised i've had a prolapse. I don't know exactly what it is but something is coming out Blush

I've been trying to loose weight and have lost quite a lot but I still seem to look very pregnant. I've been looking online but can't answer my question - can a prolapse make your stomach protrude?

I know need to see a doctor but hopefully I can get some advice here!

Hi sorry I can't help you with your prolapse question but have you checked if you have diastasis recti? Which is separation of the stomach muscles and causes your stomach to protrude like you describe.
If you google it there's a way of checking if you have it. But basically if you can fit your fingers into a gap above and below your belly button. Don't be disheartened though as there are exercises to rectify it. And don't do any exercises that will strain that area such as sit ups, this will make it worse! Hope that helps!

Oh and also don't push yourself to lose lots of weight, be gentle with yourself you've only had a baby recently. You've done great!

No a prolapse can't make your stomach protrude.

If you feel something is not right see you GP. You need an internal exam ideally by a gynae.

It sounds like you might have have a diastisis. I know how you feel, I have a prolapse too and my DD is 7 months old 😭 Really no fun. You need to ask for a physio referral.
