Bruise like marks on legs...HV thinks it might be clotting (sp?)

Saw HV for fouth time a few days ago as Dd who is 22 months old has had bruise marks in the exact same place and same size on both legs for the last 5 1/2 months. Have made an appointment with the doctor for tuesday meanwhile I am starting to panic! She said something briefly about an inbalance in her clotting..does anyone know what this is and how it is treated?
Any advice would be much appreciated,

Thanx,

Jules

some peoples blood doesnt clot as well as others, and they bruise and bleed freely. i bruise easily, always have done, but it isnt a problem for me. dd1 seems to bruise easy as well. dh now does, never used to, but is on warfarin which thins the blood and means he is more susceptiable to bleeds under the skin, ie bruises.

dd1 has bruises more or less in the same places of her shins since she started climbing and jumping about.
is there anything that might be putting pressure or that your dd might be hitting against that may be causing the bruising?

No I don't think so. The bruises have not changed shape or colour for the whole time.
They said they might have to do a blood sample..how would they do that in toddlers?

You've created 2 threads! I posted a message about blood clotting on the other one. Hope it turns out to be nothing...my ds is always covered in bruises on his legs too and I've actually no idea if they are always the same or not, I just assumed he was getting them falling over or walking into things.

How big are they ????

We had a scare like that once when Ds suddenly had little tiny bruises on his thighs. We ruled out menningitis straight awaay as he wasn't ill.
We took him to the docs and he was very very concerned and mentioned about a clotting problem, and was about to arrange blood testes and stuff when he asked if either dd had perhaps pinched him or something.
Dd's hadn't pinched him but Dp had been tickling his legs. Turns out he'd been abit to rough and this had caused the marks.

It took a few days for them to dissapear completly.

I hope yours turns out to be something and nothing too

Could be clotting - I have a clotting factor deficiency picked up in my teens when I noticed I bruised very easily.
It doesn't really affect my life at all - except when having my two children; I had to have C-Sections and was adminstered the clotting factor that I was missing prior to the ops.

Collagen deficiency can also cause easy bruising.
