my 9month dd is poorly, should I wake her?

DD has had sickness since yesterday evening. She has been off colour today but not particularly high temp. I've had to carry her and she has only had a few short naps in the day. I popped her down at about 4.45pm -5pm for a short nap. She is still asleep. She has not eaten all day and has just drank water. Should I wake her or leave her until she wakes? I have checked her and she is curled up in the corner of her cot (unusual for her) and I haven't put her in her grobag.

nnnoooo let her sleep and put a blanket over her too. As my DD hibernates when shes not well as sleep sleep sleep.....

How old is she? Has she actually been vomiting today?

I'd be inclined to leave her but def keep an eye out. Sleep is often the best cure

Poor you

Thanks for advice. She has vomited today - once in public! She is a very easy going baby but has been almost worryingly quiet today. Defo keep an eye on her.

poor little thing I'd be inclined to wake her, if only for a drink of water, when you go to bed yourself. That way she gets a good sleep but you get some peace of mind to help you get a bit of shut eye too.

I hope it's only her teeth troubling her - that's how my DD1 goes when she is cutting a tooth even at 2 and a half

friendlyedjit · 15/03/2007 22:31

wake her for your own peace of mind and give her a drink. if she's ok she'll have a quick slug and head back to nod land.

My ds goes like this when he's not well.
Im constantly prodding him and trying to get him to drink.
I think its best to let them sleep, but you worry!

bubblicious · 15/03/2007 23:41

I would go in and listen to their breathing, if it sounds calm and regular, then I would leave them- after sleep is the best when they are not well!, I would make sure though that you have something ready incase they wake and need something- but also be prepared just incase it comes back as quick as it went in! Sorry to haer little one is poorly1

Thanks for messages. She woke at midnight, I gave her some drink and she then slept til 6.15am. No more sickness and she had some breakfast at 10 ish. I had already made an appointment with doc this afternoon, might cancel if she looks likes she is on the mend. Has now slept for 2 hours this morning and was grouchy, prefer this to the strange silence I had yesterday!
