Debate on this on Radio 2. Much more difficult for woman than man. Can he not consider it apparantly straightforward and pretty painless for him?

They were generally talking about the actual procedure which is much more straightforward. Believe they said they just have to go into tubes that are already there rather than cutting open in women. Also said recovery time much quicker for men.?

Apparently, for men it is a procedure, but for women it is a surgery. Much more invasive.

Think it least they can do ! Hope goes well at Relate they can be really helpful if you both want it to work.

dh had snip last week and was back at work two days later.

There's been a few threads on this before if you search the archives - both on female sterilisation and "the snip"!

There's also been a couple of threads about something called Essure - a non-surgical sterilisation procedure for women. It is done in parts of the UK but not everywhere - I've been bugging my GP to see if it can be done anywhere near where I am but no luck so far.

Essure

my sister was sterilised (they went thru her belly button) and was in agony for about 2 weeks and also had other complications. And the clinic that she had it done also did abortions and she had people screaming at her and throwing things at the car, which she found very upsetting.

I do agree that the male 'snip' is a lot easier.
