Fine hair, broadening hair partition

Hello,

Does anyone have a problem with fine hair and wide hair partition? I've always had this problem since my late 20's but now I'm 52 it's got worse and I think I'll have to do something about it. What do I do?
I've seen some tablets, sprays and powders online but I'm not sure. Can anyone recommend something?

Yes, me too, sadly. With a similar age time scale. It gets worse and better randomly. I've decided one of the best things is to keep on top of my hair trims and, since I dye my hair, roots regrowth. I try to use a good shampoo. On the downside I probably use my straighteners/big hair too much.

On the artificial side I've used hair thickening powder that you kind of shake on to thin areas a bit like pepper from a shaker and slightly blend in with my finger. It also has a fixing spray. I think it's reasonably good and certainly not bad for an instant think but I sometimes wonder if it's noticeable and people are too kind to mention it.

My hairdresser also suggested I did one of those wavy partings where it's not in a straight line but I can never achieve it for myself.

I'll just go and look up the make of the powder.

It's called Nanogen hair fibre and Nanogen locking spay. It comes in different shades costs about £18 from Amazon but a little goes a long way and lasts. You'll probably find it's trial and error. I also tried a mascara type thing for root touch up which was too gunky.

Have you had your thyroid function checked? A undertactive thyroid can cause hair to thin

I read about these hair fibres and there are loads of it in the market. I'm not very keen on putting powder on my hair but if this is the only solution... I don't know. Well, hair transplant but I have family to spend money on. One way or another I have to do something about my hair as it doesn't look good. If it in the region on £20, £30 I think I will give it a go.
If I completley changed my hair style that could be a solution too.

Hi there,
if it's of any consolation to you I started using hair thickeners when I was 30. I don't know whether it is has anything to do with the birth of my first child but yes it's pretty much since then.
I've tried many fibres and some of them are pretty good, some of them - cheap ones I wouldn't personally touch. I've stayed with Volume Hair Plus for a few years now and it works for me.
On the other hand a different hair style could be a way to go as it works for me too.
