Blood test results abnormal

I posted in chat, but I guess this is a bit specialised, but would be grateful for any advice/reassurance.

I had a whole raft of bloods taken the other day.

In the FBC there were three 'abnormal' results; MHC and MCHC were fell far below the normal range, whilst Eosinophil fell way above the normal range. Most others were OK, though quite a few fell on one extreme of normal to the other (haemoglobin was the lowest number of normal), platelets slightly high, haemocrit low, MCV low along with lymphocyte. Despite this, and the lab highlighting the abnormal results, the dr has marked it as 'no action needed'.

My creatine kinase (why they tested this I don't know), was off the scale high, and the dr noted it was abnormally high.

My potassium is right at the top of normal (good I take it), but sodium is normal. Urea is low. Calcium is just higher than normal.

My symptoms are; lethargy, mind fog, migraines (twice a week), and more worrying and upsetting for me, joint pain. I have a deformed ankle from joint damage, and both feet kill me, especially in the morning, when they are stiff (not plantar). My elbow joints hurt, and my hands, which affect me holding DD's hand, as if she touches the joints it makes me scream (some joints are swollen).

I'm seeing a dr next month, but wondered if the results ruled anything out/in. I guess I have anaemia, but dr doesn't seem keen to prescribe iron.

Oh and bowel problems, but I guess that's IBS, and not worth mentioning.

Should add, no ESR or inflammatory type tests were taken.

CK can be high if you take statins?

Humptyfelldown · 10/05/2017 16:06

No never taken statins.

Did you have thyroid checked?

weemidden · 10/05/2017 16:08

Thyroid function tests I mean

Humptyfelldown · 10/05/2017 16:11

Yes, my TSH was 1.71, which is better than last year, when it was 3.8, thyroid makes sense, but the TSH says otherwise Hmm

Ask Dr for a rheumatoid factor test and inflammatory markers. With joint pain, they may test these for you.

Hellothereitsme · 10/05/2017 16:24

How old are you? The ankles, elbows and hands sound like menopausal symptoms. I had those symptoms along with others which have now gone as a result of HRT.

Humptyfelldown · 10/05/2017 16:41

Hellothere, I've had my hormone levels checked and they are normal, though I'm 46. My ankles actually have degenerative changes - I've had an x-ray, and there are bone spurs, and narrowing of the space between the bones. I've seen a podiatrist who said one ankle in particular the joint has changed shape. If HRT helps then I'd be happy to take it, but the dr seems unwilling to talk about it right now Hmm. I do have night sweats, and have for years, on and off. I was sure it was the beginning of the menopause, but I had a glucose monitor given me, which showed low glucose.

I had a lump come up just above my wrist, but is going now. I also have lumps in my breast, but know it's likely to be cystic, so will wait till my appointment (but not sure whether it's worth wasting the dr's time with it).

Claire - I tested positive for lupus twice after my youngest died just before birth. A repeat a year later was negative, so they ruled it out. I did have ESR checked when I thought I was menopausal with night sweats, and along with low glucose (strange as my dad and both younger siblings have type 2 diabetes), the ESR was very raised. The dr asked me about pain, but I didn't really feel bad then.
