Any recommendations for treating scars?

DD had an accident at the weekend and cut her head, was fixed at hospital with glue. I'm keen to minimise the scarring especially as it is on her face.

A couple of years ago I used a silicon patch on a scar and was impressed, but there are so many brands and I don't know what I used, the OT just cut me a strip of something.

Does anyone have any recommendations for silicon products or any other tips for reducing scarring?

Thanks in advance!

pure aloe gel (From any health food shop) or Rose Mosqueta oil would be my recommendations. Need to use long term for best effect. DOn't use bio-oil, look at the ingredients and you can see it's full of crap

Bio oil is good.
Just a drop or two massaged into the scarily (once it has completely healed) minimises scarring. My DD has a Z-shaped scar on her forehead, from a tumble off her bike aged 6. She's now early 20s and the scar is barely noticeable.

Bio oil may be full of crap but it worked for my DD.

Kelocoat we scar reduction cream.

DD (4) had stitches above her eyebrow in October - it's almost invisible now. Bit pricey but absolutely worth it

I have a 10 inch scar after major surgery. The surgeon advised me to massage it regularly, and while he didn't mention bio oil specifically it was the oil I chose. The scar has healed to a nearly invisible white line. I don't know whether it was the massage, the oil, the surgeon's skill or just the way my body heals but I am very happy with the result.
