Crooked milk teeth - a sign of things to come?

Hi, I'm probably worrying needlessly but my 6 month old is sprouting teeth left right and centre .... no worries there. Problem is you could drive a bus through the gap between his two big top ones and his bottom 3 are heading off in all different directions. I'm thinking waaaaay into the future now but does the state of his milk teeth have any indication that his permanent teeth will be wonky too? I had braces as did my husband - does genetics play are part in wayward teeth?

DD1 had wonky milk teeth, but her permanent teeth are nice and straight. I would just wait and see, genetics must play a part somewhere, as dd1 has inherited her top 2 teeth from her dads side of the family - long and with a gap in the middle.

Don't worry one little bit kiwicath - you have about 10 years or so before you can tell how his teeth will be! They come thru all over the place and settle down but also, the growth of the jaw affects their positioning
DS1's second teeth were horribly wonky, big gaps everywhere, really looked awful, but he never needed a brace or any treatment to correct them - by the time he was 13, they had all settled into a nice set of even, straight, gap free teeth
Now I just have to remind him to bloody clean them, but thats a different thread!
