Constant colds!

My DS started nursery in Jan and since then he's had several colds, which he is passing onto me but seemingly I am suffering more than him! Have had 5 or 6 so far this year already and I never get them that much - maybe once or twice a year at most? I know its a phase of building up immunity and will pass, but was wondering if anyone had any tips to help? I was thinking of a multivitamin as when I was pregnant/breastfeeding and taking these, I didn't get a single cold for 17 months!

Well you can keep up with your supplements. Do you take vitamin d? Are you sure you're not anaemic?
No magic cure, I'm afraid. You're probably horribly run down; are you working now as well? I've had a million colds and recurrent tonsillitis when I returned to work and DC started nursery. I think I got better when he was around 2 or 2.5. Sorry!

I don't take anything at the moment. No idea on the anaemia, presume I'd have to see a GP for that. I am working 4 days a week and probably don't quite get enough sleep...I guess most people don't in this situation!

Vitamin d definitely

You have my sympathies OP. It's really difficult with young children. They say everyone should supplement with vitamin D because most people are deficient. You could ask your GP to rule vit d deficient out when you ask re anaemia but the vitamin d test is expensive ie they might not want to test you and just say take some supplements anyway.

Thanks all. Sounds like Vit D and iron might be the things!
