and I am so so hungry, but even water is making me vomit. I am trying to drink dioralyte, the gp's been and given me sickness pill but I'm still no better.

And I am so hungry it is almost painful.

How long do those pills you dissolve between yr gum/lip take to stop you vomiting?

An hour they take for me. They are very effective.

Jux · 27/04/2017 17:14

Fingers crossed. I'm going to try some yoghurt.

Yoghurt or any other dairy is the worst thing you could eat! Have dry toast or a couple of plain digestives! Dairy will irritate your tummy further

C0RAL · 27/04/2017 17:22

If water makes you sick, why would you try yoghurt ? No dairy !

You would be better with the dioralyte is you can keep it down.

Badders123 · 27/04/2017 17:32

No dairy!!!
Brat diet...banana, rice apple and toast!

Badders123 · 27/04/2017 17:33

Keep on with the dioralyte
Sip every 5 mins
If you've kept that down for a couple of hours try a banana

Vroomster · 27/04/2017 20:09

Ice lollies.

Reow · 27/04/2017 20:15

I second ice lollies.

And white toast with butter.

dementedpixie · 27/04/2017 20:19

I always start with toast. Plain biscuits?

CaulkheadNorth · 27/04/2017 20:21

I have crackers or toast. I'm yoghurts biggest fan but don't eat it if you're ill!!

insancerre · 27/04/2017 20:22

Water is the worst thing to have
It just makes you vomit again
If you do have to have water, try an IceCube or an ice loly

WowOoo · 27/04/2017 20:23

Get well soon! I'd have tiny sips of water/dioralyte and see if you can take a tiny bit of toast. Poor you.

2014newme · 27/04/2017 20:43

Any luck op?

Jux · 28/04/2017 00:48

No luck. Didn't get the yoghurt but tried a tiny bit of a cracker. Thought it was going to be OK but no.

Neither water nor dioralyte are staying down, haven't since yesterday, but that's what gp said to have (I don't much like juice at the best of times).

We have no bananas.

nocoolnamesleft · 28/04/2017 03:28

How are you taking the dioralyte? Start with 5ml (a teaspoon) every 5 minutes, then gradually build up...

Jux · 28/04/2017 03:37

I can't take it quite as quickly as that. Very small sips over about an hour. But will have lost a fair bit of it before I've had the lot. Some is staying down.

Flat coke works for me

horizontilting · 28/04/2017 06:27

Try half water with half sprite or 7up in a glass. Much easier on the stomach than water and gets a bit of glucose into you.

EvansGreen · 28/04/2017 09:40

i usually eat crackers homemade with no flavor and dried blueberries

C0RAL · 28/04/2017 11:28

If you are not keeping down fluids you need to watch you don't get dehydrated. Is your pee a normal colour? if it gets dark you need to get medial advice again.

delilahbucket · 28/04/2017 22:16

Have you tried coke? Normal stuff, not diet.

BrutusMcDogface · 28/04/2017 22:20

5ml every five mins (or whatever tiny sip you can manage) is what I was advised for my son when he was very very sick. He was desperately thirsty but kept throwing up whatever he took in. Gradually enough actually went in to start making a difference.

Get well soon, you poor thing Sad

Jux · 29/04/2017 03:00

Thanks for all your suggestions! We have no coke or sprite or anything like it - no one here likes those drinks, and honestly they make me want to vom at the best of times.

So far I have had some dry toast, some yoghurt (first thing that stayed down - make of that what you will! and I wanted it so badly ), and half a banana. DH did me a scrambled egg which was divine. I think I'm on the mend.

Thanks for keeping me company.
