Prolapsed...something

I have made an appointment at the GP for later in the week, but wondered if anyone had any experiences to share about how that appointment might go.

I only noticed this yesterday - dull lower pelvic ache, feeling like something was falling out, like a tampon. I can feel a very low bulge in my vagina - feels massive but probably isn't.

Discomfort has continued and worsened today. Some mild googling has mentioned incontinence. I have had a bit of a problem with this recently - a bit of soiling or not getting to the loo quite in time. Was trying to ignore it but actually have been pretty anxious about it.

I'm really worried about it now, especially how suddenly it has come on and worsened. DC are 8 and 5, delivered vaginally.

I have had the same recently. Prob not as bad but similar pelvic ache and feeling of something dropping. I have had two vaginal births. Does yours feel worse when you have to do a bowel movement? Let me know how you get on with the gp.

Hi, thanks for reply. I'm getting a bit anxious about bowel movements actually. More because I can't seem to wipe properly. I think the bulge is blocking it somehow.

Seems worse/ more uncomfortable as the day goes on - gravity I suppose!

When is your appointment with the gp?

Sounds like a pelvic prolapse to me. They can be bladder (cystocele) or rectum bulging into the vaginal wall (rectocele) causing a soft lump in there. Gets worse at end of the day. Exercise like running or jumping or sit ups can make it worse. Yours sounds like a rectocele but hopefully GP will tell you.
They can be surgically repaired as you'll see from previous prolapse posts on here. Also pelvic floor exercises with a specialist women's phyiso can help a lot too. Can be worse at different times of the month. After menopause gets worse (mine did), as the ligaments soften due to changes in hormones, so I had surgery for my bladder one a couple of years ago. I had a failed venthouse and a forceps on my 2nd which did it I think.

Appointment is tomorrow. I've been feeling really uncomfortable all day, definitely worse. I wonder how long it is from appointment to any treatment/ physio.
