Grumble grumble. Why does a fall hurt adults so much?

I tripped and fell over yesterday afternoon, landing face down on my left side on the wooden flooring. Didn't hurt so much yesterday but have been in pain half the night and really ache and am stiff this morning. Ouch Can hardly move my left shoulder, and my back kills. Why do falls hurt adults so mcuh?

Also have incredibly painful earache and throat. Have had painkillers for it yesterday and today. I wonder if it was that that knocked me off balance and caused me to fall yesterday?

Not gone into work today. Goping to go to doctors with ear/throat instead, and try and get some rest. Although with DD here.....

Just wanted to grumble.

Coz we tense up so much I guess. That's why drunks don't tend to hurt themselves. You could always have a few drinkies

I stubbed my toe (pathetic) back in April and it's still giving me gyp. What else - a dodgy knee and a broken arm all in the last 3 years.

Give it time and we'll be comparing our gout pains or something

Sounds like you need a nice hot bath and a massage, adults hurt more so they have an excuse to pamper themselves, try and get buckets of sympathy, and if they are very lucky some flowers. Hope you feel better soon.

Hula, I had earache/sore throat last week, as well as aching body, swollen glands (they were huge!) and all the general flu symptoms so you may be coming down with the same?

Although we got a letter home from DD's nursery to say that 2 staff have been off sick with mumps, so I'm beginning to wonder if that's what I had due to the size of my glands, although I had mumps when I was 3 years old so probably not.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now Hope you get well soon xxx

Thanks all. Still a bit sore but it should improve during the day no doubt.

Back from doctors about ear/throat. Really painful now. Have tonsilitus - again!!! Now have penciliin to try and sort that out.

Now, how to get DD to have an extra long nap later so I can have that hot bath. Some chance, eh?!
