Teenage DS - shortsighted in only one eye??

DS has just realised that he is very short sighted in his left eye. It is fine with close ups and other eye is completely fine both long and short.

His other eye must be compensating because it seeks v bad when right eye is covered but no probs when neither eye covered.

Earliest we'll be able to go to opticians is weekend.

I always thought if you were short sighted it was both eyes.

Is this quite normal or should I be concerned ?

Sgtmajormummy be very careful with the laser surgery. Friend had it done and for her the negatives far out weighed the benefits and she is stuck like this for life

Oliver, he's so squeamish about eyes, he'll probably decide against the operation, anyway!

Given what my friend goes through she wishes she had stayed with her glasses.

I had uneven sight anyway and had my dominant stronger eye lazered about 25yrs ago
You weee supposed to wear glasses with your correction on the undone eye and clear glass in the done
Could NOT do it!! Couldn't seeee. Was beside myself thinking I'd never be able to drive again. Suddenly the lazered eye healed and took over and I've seen perfectly ever since
I went back to get -4.75 eye done and they told me to save my money as it didnt really do anything for me
I do get a bit dazzled at night driving and often shut undone blurry eye without even noticing - night Driving and in bright sun

Arrrrr pirates🚤
