bunged up baby

hi, can anyone advise on what to do to help my poor little angel. she is nearly 9 months and suffering from a really bunged up nose. she has no other signs of a cold and is only properly bunged up at night. it's giving us all a real headache as she still sleeps with us. she's waking up lots during the night and when she does finally drop off, her snoring is loud enough to take a few tiles off the roof....
we are currently using vaporub, saline solution and karvol capsules (the plug ins too sometimes). the pharmacy have advised she's too little to have a decongestant. i have had a suggestion of a humidifier, but that was from my mum and she's a bit potty at the best of times. any wisdom out there which would help us all get a good (well better) night's sleep please (take pity on me, i'm 7 weeks pregnant and totally knackered)....

My DS had a cold for five weeks from birth! A horrible time as we couldnt give him any medicine at all. We tried the nose saline drops which did seem to help bring down what was already bunged up. We bought "baby clear nose" and resorted to sucking the mucas out (lovely). I found that running a very hot bath at night and leaving him in the room for 1/2 with the steam really helped. Good luck x

Saline drops, and keep her propped up. Try to moisten the air - try hanging up wet washing or towels or something nearby - or perhaps you can put a bowl of water beside the radiator. As long as it is in a safe place.

How did you get on with the medised? Is she getting better now?

yup thanks, she's on the mend (finally) but has gone form a baby who positively embraced taking medicine to one who behaves as if you're tryin to poison her and crying her eyes out, which was really sad. they just don't understand when you tell them it'll make them feel better do they.
