Can anyone recommend where I can get up-to-date info on pro's /cons of vaccinating (not MMR)?

I can't seem to find a balanced view.
Just suggesting a place to start the researching off would be good, or if anyone has decided not to vaccinate can you tell me if are there any alternative options available (like spreading out the jabs, or opting out of the 5-in-1)?

glad you started this thread. My ds is 13 months so will need the mmr in april sometime. I still don't know what to do. A parent at playgroup chose for ds to have the jabs seperately at a cost of around £100 a go and they needed 6 weeks notice. my ds's red book that you take to hv has some info in it in the immunisation section stating that giving the vaccinations seperately "would mean having 6 injections instead of 2 and would leave children exposed to 2 of the diseases for at least a year". I know the concern is that the dangers when contracting measles for a young child are far worse (apparently) than any risk associated with the mmr. All that being said I still don't know what to do.

erm. jimjams has a book recommendation by Neuberg or someone i think.

it isn't anti vax but is realistic about potential risks.

aneducateddecision.com is pretty much anti, but not in a rabid way, and she is a homeopath and will work with you if you want to vax.

erm. any dept of health blurb will say it is all fine and dandy and nothing bad comes of it...which for most children is true.

beware...once you've started down the reading round road, the decision becomes an awful lot harder....

if you search vaccinations you'll find tons and tons of stuff, but be warned it invariably gets pretty heated.

thanks sophable. I know what you mean part of me wants to just go for the mmr like nearly every other mum i know and trust that it'll all be fine. I see a homeopath oevery couple of months for me and ds and haven't been to a gp in years (except for baby injections) so i know she'd work with me whatever i decide. Decisions decisions....

My 2 eldest didn't have MMR but did have the single vaccines, paid for privately. They had 3 jabs in total, no boosters (don't believe in 'em).
My dilemma is the 5-in-1 my baby is due for in one months time. I've ordered the book recommendation from an archived thread, thanks Sophable.
I rang the HV yesterday for further info but she said she had never been asked so didn't know any answers to what I thought were basic questions tbh. It saddens me that people do blindly trust some professionals and yet if they're questioned they appear to have little better knowledge than the parents.
