Constantly ill

Hello I'm wondering what to do, I've been ill since Boxing Day. Two bouts of tonsillitis and then a chest infection. I should highlight that I'm so rarely ill. I'm now in bed exhausted with a really painful chest - a stabbing motion in my left lung if I breathe too deeply. I've been to see two doctors who say I'm run down and one who suggested that I'm getting myself worked up (basing this I assume on my history of anxiety). My husband has private health care with his work so I could just use my doctors for a referral rather than face seeing them again just to be told I'm a bit tired.
I sleep well and really look after my health so it's really frustrating!
I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience or if anyone could tell me what kind of specialist I could be referred to to check everything is ok?
Also I had bloods taken after my second bout of tonsillitis and they all came back normal. So I'm really confused but above all feel SO ill! Thank you in advance x

i suffer from severe and frequent infections and was sent to immunology.
i had a lot of weird and wonderful tests done and quite a few came back abnormal , i had to have vaccines and now have a never ending supply of co amoxiclav ready to treat infections straight away.
(routine bloods at gp came back normal)

Do you know which blood tests you've had?
I experienced a similar run of illnesses & was apprehensive about having Type 2 diabetes but bloods showed a very under-active thyroid & iron-deficient anaemia. My general health is better since those conditions have stabilised.

I was like this and bloods aok. Then one doctor told me to take a Vitamin D supplement and another (private, thanks to DH's work health insurance) told me I was mildly anaemia and to take an iron supplement. This was due to heavy periods which is common in my age (early 40s, post children).

Both of these (or one, who knows) have worked a treat.

Have a try! I used to get so down about it.

i think there was about 20
i can see if i can find the results sheet ,if you need to know the exact ones.
i was sent to the immunologist via hematologist ,who noticed my immunoglobulins and calcium were abnormal and he couldn't find a cause and,
some of the tests were expensive and only an immunologist can order them.
my vit d levels are normal after treatment - (it was 12 )and no anemia.

Stabbing pain sounds a bit pleurisy like. Take care and rest rest rest.

Thank you so much. Immunology referral in the pipeline and Vitamin D purchased. Mentioned the chest pain and trouble with breathing and the dr agreed pleurisy, so thank you so much all xxx

Pleurisy is nasty but take it very easy, slow and rest lots and you'll be back to normal . It took me about a month which I know feels ages but if you rush it takes longer.
