If you have had a hysterectomy, what practical 'gifts' would have been welcome?

My mum is due to go in for an abdominal hysterectomy shortly and due to the short notice and living a few hundred miles away I can't get to her to be of practical help. My brothers are local but useless. I was planning to send her a few bits - earplugs, compression socks, massive pants! as well as some more treat type things. If you've been in her position what would you have found useful? She has a kindle and Netflix once she's back home so boxsets probably not much use.

Fortunately she knows some of the staff on the ward personally so fingers crossed will be leaving with a full complement of pain medication whenever she's discharged!

hi, i know this thread hasn’t been active recently but my mum is having abdominal surgery for an ovarian cyst and a potential full hysterectomy in the same opp in a few weeks. I want to get her a gift basket as i don’t live at home anymore and can’t be with her 24/7 but money is really tight at the moment. I would really appreciate if anyone could give any recommendations on lifesaver gadgets or items that they found essential post op as i want to get the right things. But from some of the research i’ve done some items that are recommended can be quite expensive on their own. I would love to be able to give her as much as i can but i just don't have the money at this time. So if anyone has any recommendations for just a few lifesaver essentials items or gadgets that really helped recovery that would be amazing. :)
