Commiserations on the pissing yourself problem. Is it the stress version? I have the urge one Blush

Hopefully someone from Any Old Prolapse will be along.

Have you had children OP ?
When you say exercise, do you mean pelvic floor exercises ?
Most things can be fixed.
It is possible, that you have a slight rectal prolapse, which presses against the vaginal wall.

Just to mention, your cervix will lower when you're mentruating. I have a copper coil which I thought was falling out as I could see the threads but they disappear back up when my period has finished!

Cherylene · 27/01/2017 21:08

For a rectocele, they usually expect you to have tried exercise/physio and stool softeners/diet etc before they will consider surgery.

There are physios who specialise in gynae stuff, and can help with the incontinence bit too.

I had surgery - it did not solve everything but I did get my perineum back, which made me very happy [easily pleased Grin ]

LivininaBox · 27/01/2017 21:09

Pelvic floor exercises can improve it, and if you go to a women's health physio they can check your technique to help you do them efficiently. Don't despair.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/01/2017 21:15

If you make an appointment with your GP, he/she, will then make you an appointment at your local Continence Clinic. It'll be okay OP, you just need to see the right people.
Pelvic floor exercises, over time, can work wonders. Sooner you go, sooner it can be sorted, try not to worry. 💐

I went through physio for vaginal prolapse, an NHS referral to specialist incontinence physio, it really worked. Saw them for about nine months, doing very specific pelvic floor exercises, it took time but now i have no issues. Ask your gp or search 'womens health' physio in your area, often you can self refer

Thanks - it's been brewing for a while it's just right now it's fucking collapsed . And I knew I was pissing myself more than usual and went to extra strong tena. I just do NOT want surgery . No no no

Thanks you have calmed me as I put my hand up there and I was like what the hell is this bulge 😩 .

It's like a hernia ?

Really, don't worry, there's every chance this can be put right.

sadie9 · 27/01/2017 22:35

With a prolapse don't do any exercise that involves sit ups or running, deep squats or lifting weights, as those can make it worse. The prolapse can be felt more in the evening time or following exercise such as the above.

I swim and swim and walk so no worries there! I can't wait till this period is over . Wish me luck with getting a GP appt Sad thanks again

sorry to hear this. I had stress incontinence for years and have had it fixed with surgery. I also have a rectocele which is sadly way beyond what could be helped with physio alone so awaiting further surgery. I'm trying to educate myself as much as possible and have bought a couple of Kindle books this week. This one has lots of info for treating with conservative measures. Appreciate it's early days for you as you've need seen your GP yet but if it is a prolapse then don't despair. There's also a very supportive group on Facebook.
