My husband has found a lump.

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this and really this is just a bit of a 'hand-holding' type of a post.
My husband found (or rather I found, but let's not go into details ) a pea sized lump on one of his testicles last night.
He did try to get an gp appointment this morning, but obviously there were none. He started making noises about leaving it as he couldn't find the lump anyway. I persisted (nagged) until he went to the walk in centre. The result of this visit was that he has to be referred for an ultrasound. Since he came back from the Dr, he mentioned that he's being having pain, on and off, since before Christmas!
He doesn't seem bothered/stressed but I'm feeling sick with worry.
Has anyone's OH been in a similar situation and it all turned out ok? Equally I'd liked to hear from those who didn't get such a great result at the beginning. What happened? What was the diagnosis procedure/prognosis?
Any stories, comments or advice will truly be appreciated.

My exh had a lump and pain. Turned out to be a harmless cyst.

The same week my df
had the snip. They looked a right pair. We had the all clear pretty soon and I bought them both a punnet of plums to celebrate. .
Wasn't funny ob... Hope he gets the all clear soon too.

He's making jokes about it, so the pain can't be too bad! He's calling himself the one ball wonder, though I think that's for my benefit because he can see how anxious I am.

My uncle had to have a scan on his testicles for the same reason, he was given the all clear but was mortified that the scan said
' ultrasound- small parts'

Hi 2ducks. MrFrumble was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2009 after finding a lump. He's all fine now! If there's anything you'd Iike to ask about his diagnosis, treatment and beyond, please go ahead.

When is your DH's ultrasound? Has he had any blood tests yet? Testicular tumours produce some odd hormone levels in the blood, so it's a useful way to find out if anything is wrong.

My partner was diagnosed with testicular cancer July 2016. His had spread to his lymph nodes in his abdomen, chest and neck. He had 4 cycles of chemotherapy then a couple of months later had his testicle removed. Scans showed it came straight back after chemo finished so he's now having another 4 cycles of chemotherapy followed by high dose chemo and a stem cell transplant. They are still looking at curing him.

Testicular cancer is actually really well treated something around 95% of men will beat it first time. From collapsing at work on 22nd June he then had a biopsy on 30th June and got his results on 8th July and then in hospital on the 13th to have tests on his kidneys and lungs and to freeze sperm. He started chemo on the 15th July. As the cancer had spread so far they had him started on chemo before removing his testicle at the end although for most people it's the other way around.

My partner has a seminoma cancer which doesn't show up in the blood as clear as a non seminoma. The non seminoma is the one that shows up on a pregnancy test.

Thank you for your replies, we're still waiting for a ultrasound scan date. Hopefully out should come through fairly quickly and the Dr said he's 90% sure it's nothing sinister. So fingers crossed.

As stupid as it sounds my partners oncologist says that as much as no one wants cancer if you have to get one testicular is the one to get as it is so well treated.

DH had the same problem- the scan showed a harmless cyst but we were worried as he's previously had cancer. The doctor did say testicular tumours do have good survival rates.

My OH had testicular cancer about 4 years ago. He had a small lump for quite a while (few months) which he ignored and ignored. Then it suddenly and rapidly grew in size until it was around the size of a grapefruit. He couldn't sit or walk comfortably so he went to the Dr. Was send to A&E, they scanned it and had him in the next week for removal. Quick operation and a prosthetic implanted and he was on his feet again in around 4 or 5 days. He didn't need any further treatment (chemo etc). For him, it was a relatively insignificant thing in his life. Coincidentally we met 2 weeks after he had his operation. I honestly didn't believe him when he first told me he had had an operation to remove a malignant tumour 2 weeks prior.
