It doesn't happen often wit home cooked food but I had peri peri chicken today from take away and some fries and noticed the cough again and clear phlegm that I have to spit out(sorry for detail)
Is it just because of greasy food or should I get checked
THanks x

msg=monosodium glutamate
a flavour enhancer. often added to savoury food as cheap and makes food taste of 'more'.

it's a natural substance but many people react if they have too much of it.

I think you guys are right about the MSG stuff....today I had home cooked curry and rice but the spice mix was one of the packet powder mix and it made me cough up again.....
wondering if the powder mix has msg?

possibly
those 'big brand casserole mixes' are usually, erm, generous with msg.

Chilli makes me cough which is a pita as I like spicy, but it just sets me off for some reason
