If I am no longer registered at a GP practice, where would my medical records be kept?

TBH I just signed everything I had to, to get registered. I needed a GP as my previous one dumped me after 26 years with 31 days notice. So I just chose the least bad one and registered. I have no idea what I have signed up to.

Since getting my online notes (not the same as the doctor sees - just a summary but not the summary care data iyswim) I have noticed it has been noted that I have been late for 2 cervical smears, so I will look into getting removed from the data base on the basis that I have read and understood any implications and it is my right - and not something else for them to stick on their database.
