Found a lump

So I found a lump in my breast, had it checked out today and nurse was concerned, had never felt anything like it, said it was long. They referred me urgently and I have an appointment at the breast clinic next weds. I'm 34 and no history in the family. I'll be ok right??!

Yes, you'll be alright because the lump will either turn out to be nothing or it will be something for which you will hopefully get the best treatment the NHS can offer. Wishing you lots of luck that it's easily dealt with xx

Ames, I've had breast cancer, a mastectomy and come out the other side. It is such a worrying time, with every scenario imaginable running riot around your head. This reaction is normal.
Log onto Breast cancer care uk website and look at the forum pages. There are lots of people awaiting tests and results. I found the breast nurses that you can phone and talk to very useful.
You'll be fine. Don't try to carry on at work like I did...fool take some time to get the tests done and to get yourself together again afterwards.

All the best Ames. If you do want to talk to someone, as I said , breast cancer care uk 0808 800 6000 run a helpline that is staffed by breast nurses, you get through to a specialist breast nurse. So don't spend any time worrying, give them a call.
My son is 14 & over the summer, (a Friday as he got home from school), he had a panic because 1 side of his chest was swollen, ( the week before me, the person having a double mx was a man). So we phoned BCCUK and he spoke to the nurse. She told him how it was natural hormonal changes and he calmed right down and we had a lovely weekend.
So, do have a good Christmas, but don't sit and worry, Thames support lines are there to help you.
