Hoping someone knows a miracle cure!!!

11 month ds started with sickness and diahorrea on Wed and although the sickness stopped within 12 hours, everything is just going straight through him!!!!!

Been advised to stop all dairy, but he is starving and trying to get him to sleep but he just keeps crying cause he is desperate for his bedtime bottle.

Given him rehydration sachet in water but he isn't fooled into thinking it is a substitute for his milk!

Any suggestions?

As long as he's drinking plenty don't worry.
I would give him back his milk!
My health visitor told me that babies aren't like adults and cannot be kept on water for 24 hours.
Its not going to harm him and he may go to sleep with a full stomach.
If it goes straight through him, hopefully he will be able to retain a small drop to fill him up for a while.

Thanks. I have given him some solids today but nothing diary, cause was told that is the worst thing for it.

He has been drinking juice but as you know it doesn't fill him. Was giving him half strength formula but stopped this morning in the hope that cutting out the dairy would work. Apparently not!

We were going to venture out earlier for the first time in days, got him dressed and in his high chair for some lunch, and then he went!

It litteraly ran down the inside of his trouser legs and formed a pool on the floor. (Which poses the question if Pampers soak up enough wee in their baby dry nappies for 12 hours, why did this happen with liquid poo)?

I'd dump the juice and give him his milk. I know dairy isn't great with tummy bugs, but it's better than solids while the diaorrhea is really bad. When DS had it, the GP told us to cut the solids for 24 hours and to give him dioralyte and contiue with the feeds (he was BF).

I'd stick with the milk and try this:

BRAT diet
B - banana which settle an acid tummy and has potassium to regulate fluid balance
R - rice which relieves diarrhoea and provides energy and protein
A - apple which is a traditional cure for gastroenteritis
T - toast which helps to settle stomach and provides carbohydrate for energy

We've just had the old D&V with 15mth old DS, most unpleasant. Hope you get sorted out soon.

Still going strong! Had about 6 changes of clothes so far today!

Thanks for the advice. Giving it a go, so fingers crossed!
