Inverted cervix, my back passage and me!

Okay... well, I don't post on here very often, I'm relatively new... but in for a penny, in for a pound!

I'm looking for a little reassurance & hand holding I guess, along with any similar experiences.

Had what I think is some awful gastro-bug for nearly 2 weeks now, started suddenly in the night, managed to stop myself throwing up but thinking perhaps that wasn't such a wise move now! For 11 days I've been constantly nauseous, can't eat properly, churning, gurgling stomach etc etc... but nothing actually resulting!

So what has this got to do with an inverted cervix? Well I went to the docs yesterday and she gave me some anti-nausea tablets, felt my tummy which was tender and also asked to give me a rectal exam (Oh joy!!).

After the exam she said she could feel a lump up there, but that it was smooth and if it was something 'sinister' she would expect it to be rough. She said she wanted a second opinion and I'm to go for another exam with a different doctor at the practice next Tuesday... which gives me nearly a week of worry as well as the original bug / food poisoning whatever to deal with.

My sister has a retroverted cervix and I know they can be genetic. I've also had a nurse unable to find my cervix in pap smears... well she did eventually after much digging Blush and the doc yesterday did say that being smooth it could be 'your cervix not in the right place' - so that gives me reason to think that's what's happening here.

But my family also have a history of bowel cancer (Dad had it at age 60).... so it's a bit worrying really.

Any thoughts or similar experiences welcome - thanks!
